Grants

Grants are awarded partially based on how well they align with supporting the purposes of Boone County 4-H Foundation and the purpose for 4-H:

PURPOSE

a. 4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential working and learning in partnership with caring adults. The mission of 4-H is to provide meaningful opportunities for all youth and adults to work together to create sustainable community change. This is accomplished within three primary content areas, or mission areas – civic engagement and leadership, healthy living, and science. These mission areas reiterate the founding purposes of Boone County 4-H.

b. Illinois 4-H prepares youth to solve Illinois’ problems by producing the leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, stewards, and builders we need. 4-H builds good leaders by giving them safe environments to practice all the skills needed to be successful leaders.

c. To promote and support 4-H activities at the local, county, state, national, and international levels.

d. To cooperate with individuals, groups, institutions, and organizations whose purposes are in accord with those of Boone County 4-H.

e. To support the work of the Boone County 4-H Federation, 4-H Clubs and 4-H Groups of Boone County, Illinois.

CRITERIA

1. Must be an active Boone County Illinois 4-H Club or Group.

2. As a recipient of this grant, the 4-H Club or group agrees to submit a written or in-person overview of the use of funds to the Boone County Illinois 4-H Foundation Board of Directors.

Boone County Illinois 4-H Foundation NFP (the Foundation) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations made to the Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. No goods or services are provided in exchange for contributions, unless otherwise noted. The Foundation is committed to using donated funds responsibly and transparently. Donations can be restricted or unrestricted. Restricted funds are used for a purpose designated by the donor, which must meet the mission and objectives of the Foundation. Unrestricted funds are allocated by the Foundation to the areas of greatest need to fulfill its mission and objectives. In accordance with legal requirements, we will provide acknowledgment letters for donations of $250 or more. For donations below $250, your canceled check or bank statement serves as your receipt. The Foundation values and respects the privacy of its donors. We do not sell, trade, or share donor information with any third party, except as required by law.
